As much as I love Nicholas Sparks' novels, the first 100 pages seemed boring and slow-paced. However, after that, I read the rest in a heartbeat, just like I always did with every other N. Sparks' novel. I love the writer's voice, I love shifts between narrators. And being in a mind of a sociopath at times was really refreshing and horrifying. The ending was exactly what I expected. I must say I absolutely hated it! I am fine, for the lack of a better word, with people dying. I am not even close to being fine with killing off guardian angels.

It was enjoyable. I didn't know anything about it and it was not what I expected at all, which was fun. But eh, nothing mind blowing. I read it for a "local author" challenge prompt. ✔

This book was really boring at the begining but got soomuch better. If u like thrillers and romance this is ur book.

This book could’ve been like 250 pages less and still had the same effect. Also the plot was obvious super early on like way too early. It was blaringly obvious. So much filler. Way too long for what it was

My favorite Nicholas Sparks book by far.

i bought this book bcs im trying to buy most of nicholas sparks' books so when i searched it i thought it was a love triangle and i didnt think i would ever read it really. so when i wanted to read all the books on my physical tbr i started reading it, i began reading it with the thought of it as a love triangle so it confused me a little when she got with mike so fast without a slow burn, but with time i realised that its not about the romance between the three of them its about how much of a psycho richard was and i loved every second of it even tho its not the type of books that i usually go for.

Eh. It reminded me of another one of his books (but the movie version) whose name is escaping me. Didn't love it, didn't hate it. The main character was a little annoying, but she wasn't insufferable.

I love a good Nicholas Sparks romance and this did not disappoint like At First Sight did. The author describes The Guardian as a romance and unexpected thriller which is seemingly accurate. I enjoyed the extra suspense and mystery as well as the romance in this novel.
