I thought the Dispatcher books were dark but daaaaamn Scalzi outdid himself. I appreciate the artwork, more adult books should have drawings, but it had the cover and heft of a middlegrade book, but you find out real quick that it's NOT. It's freaky steampunk but everything runs on faith and prayer, wtf?!?
