As a death-positive, sober lesbian with ADHD who loves label makers, a good 3-ring binder, & road trips, and would love to write a book one day, I think this book was written specifically for me... I mean, it even contains the specific nickname I use for my favorite 7-year-old! 🐓

Personal connections aside, this book is incredible. Alison Cochrun knows how to create well fleshed out, multi-dimensional characters who feel REAL and don’t just live in the little bubble of the story you’re reading, and I love that. I also really appreciated the ADHD representation, and showing how the same disorder can affect people so differently. I definitely identify more with Rosemary’s ADHD brain (a kind that people often don’t read as ADHD), but I have my Logan moments 😅

Can we talk about the skill it takes to weave a story about dying and grief into a romantic comedy and make it work? There is so much heart and care woven into this story. Joe’s life and death is as central as the relationship between Rosemary and Logan, and each plot point makes the other better. All this to say, Alison Cochrun is for sure going on my auto-buy author list and you should definitely read this book.

"Love is finding someone who helps you rewrite the story of yourself."
 Here We Go Again is one of those books.
 It's one of those books that makes you find something to appreciate on every page. It makes you swoon, makes you think. 
 Makes you read until 3 a.m., when you really should put the book down because you need to get some damn sleep, but instead you've got all the feels, and tears streaming with a smile on your face.
 It's the prickly pear of novels - beautiful and painful in tandem.
 I've loved Alison Cochrun's previous two novels (The Charm Offensive and Kiss Her Once For Me) and Here We Go Again tops them all.
 The characters of Logan, Rosemary and Joe are so vivid. So loveable and so flawed, I fell entirely into their Gay Mobile "death trip" journey. (And one other character, who I can't name before you read it, is now in my top favourite characters ever.)
 There is too much to gush over here, quite honestly. In summary, I loved this book and highly recommend. 
 Released on April 2.

Logan and Rosemary, former childhood friends turned bitter enemies, find themselves stuck in their small-town lives as teachers. Both women are grappling with their identities and past relationships, with Logan embracing her chaotic nature and Rosemary clinging to stability. When their dying mentor's final request leads them on a cross-country road trip in a fabulously gay van, they're forced to confront their shared history, navigate their complex feelings, and maybe, just maybe, find love and self-acceptance along the way.

This hilariously heartbreaking novel makes one wonder: should the reader be laughing or sobbing at Logan, Rosemary, and Joe’s adventure? The answer is most definitely both; that old man wouldn’t want it any other way.

Yes, there is a steamy moment in this enemies-to-lovers romance, but the plot kept me there for all 368 pages. Cochrun’s detailed and well thought-out writing style spoils every other romance novel. It is so realistic and raw in a way that one would think they’re watching a film. She’s not afraid to be poignant with her prose describing the American landscape while still sneaking in a pun-filled jab during an argument.

It can be difficult to convince someone to pick up a novel where they know the most ultimate ending will eventually occur, but Cochrun has discovered the secret formula. “Here We Go Again” doesn’t break your heart with a story of death; it fills your soul with a journey through grief, second chances, and soulmates.

Alison Cochran has managed to craft what I believe is one of the best road trip stories I have ever read! I loved the pacing, the characters, the scene building, the HUMOR!! There is so much I can say about this book.

Let's start with the happy stuff. Besides the fact that the book is hilarious, I loved how Cochrun uses the story to show travel through the southern states of America through a queer lens. Readers can expect to find themselves surprised by the love in the queer communities in different states during the journey.

Another happy-ish thing I liked was the characters. They were all so well-rounded and felt so REAL where I felt connected in a way. Like in Cochrun’s previous book, KISS HER ONCE FOR ME, HERE WE GO AGAIN has really great anxiety and ADHD representation. I also loved having a main character on the ace spectrum.

Now for the sad part.The main premise of the story and reason for the road trip is to get a man dying of cancer to his desired dying location across the country. The experience of witnessing someone deteriorate and eventually die from cancer is a major occurrence throughout the book, so keep this in mind while reading and take care of yourself.

I'm obsessed with this book! I knew it was one of my most anticipated releases of the year and it definitely lived up to the hype!!
