Depressing and bleak. Steinbeck, you’ve done it again

I mean, this just radicalized me and I already Been radicalized. I don't think Mr. Steinbeck would be very surprised to see the state of the world today but he would be wondering, urgently, why the fuck we have no class solidarity. Quite literally was taking notes from Marx. Really bonkers that I've never picked this one up before.

This book is very hard to read and is very dull.

corporate greed and the failure of capitalism, the power of community

It's been a long time, but probably my all time favorite... must read again to see if I still feel the same way about it. ... just finished ready - I remembered a bit of it, but was surprised by the ending and did not remember it. The writing is so descriptive and incredible... I love that about the book! This book really gets you thinking.
