i’ve been bugged by a few elements, like the fc abandoning her whole life to leave with her boyfriend she’s just met because he insisted, or his stupid temper and the fact that he insists on paying everything for her because he’s rich… it’s ridiculous to me and sexism at its worst because it’s so sly many people will never admit that’s it
but if i turn my brain off, that’s a pretty cute romance nonetheless. could have been shorter without costing anything but we got tons of cute and hot moments so overall enjoyable

What a completely ridiculous book. From the contrived angst to the weird and without any logic start to romance...whatever....wanted fluff, read fluff.

This was a surprisingly straightforward romance. I think for the last 1/3 I kept waiting on pins and needles for a shoe to drop - the Big Misunderstanding - but there was nothing. Just a sweet story of 2 pretty damaged people trying to make a relationship work in the fishbowl life of celebrity.
Lots of sexy times - honestly, probably like 40% of the book - so I'm addition to my smuttery shelf. But it was well done, and again, all very sweet.
I think I was just a little surprised at the straightforward story, because Singh usually throws a couple curveballs. But I've only read her PNR, so maybe that's not the case in other stuff she writes. *shrug*

Started out kind of good, but then fizzled out.
Way too much sex, too quick to the "he's my everything" and "I love yous", their fights sometimes annoyed me, on occasions Fox's high-handedness annoyed me, and it was frustrating to have so many things happen that we don't know about, because they are relevant to other books and Singh didn't want to actually ruin the surprise for the other books...

Rock star falls instantly in love with the innocent sister of his publicist, immediately knowing that she's "real" rather than a phony. Rock star goes home with innocent girl and has sex with her. Rock star knows she's his one and only forever girl, but doesn't tell her for fear of scaring her off. Innocent girl has no character except a former trauma, which we are reminded of over and over and over, that makes her reluctant to date a celebrity. Mid-book, she gets over said trauma and goes for it. Lots of bandmate bonding and short sex scenes later, rock star and ordinary girl get engaged.

I love Nalini Singh...but man this was so bad! Like legit awful. Not a single thing happened in this "story". There was so much boring sex I started to skip over it 75 pages in. And guess what? After that I got to the end after maybe reading 20 pages. I'm only giving it the second star because I love this author so much. I lied. I came back and removed the second star. It was that bad.

Guardando su goodread ho notato che, nonostante alcune alte recensioni ce ne sono alcune anche piuttosto basse e, stranamente, credo di ritrovarmi più d'accordo con i pareri espressi nell'ultimo caso. Infatti questo libro sarebbe più vicino alle 2stelline e mezzo (forse anche meno), tanto che, nel momento in cui dovevo "votare" il libro, ero piuttosto indecisa, poi ho deciso di mettere le 3 stelline per dare un po' di fiducia alla Singh, che è una delle mie autrici preferite. Detto ciò: l'unica ragione per cui il libro varrebbe 2stelline e mezzo, forse persino 3, è lo stile di scrittura di Nalini, nient'altro. Forse anche i personaggi non sono male, infatti sono stati ben delineati, purtroppo però non mi sono affezionata a nessuno di loro. Avrebbero potuto essere stati investiti e soffrire incredibili pene e non me ne sarebbe importato niente. La trama inoltre non è particolarmente interessante, l'unica cosa che ti porta avanti a leggere è, come ho detto, lo stile della scrittrice, che è così coinvolgente che ti fa continuare a leggere anche una storia che di coinvolgente non ha proprio nulla (scusa Nalini, ti adoro ma è la pura e semplice verità). Inoltre ci sono state parecchie pecche che mi hanno fatto contorcere il naso. La prima di queste la si trova fin dall'inizio del libro: la protagonista, vergine, che perde la sua verginità con la Rock Star di turno, l'altro protagonista, dopo non averci parlato neanche 5 minuti e lui che rimane intrigato da lei fin da subito, tanto da decidere di volerla conoscere ulteriormente! No ma dai! Sul serio? Io dovrei trovare credibile una cosa simile? Ma per favore, è più credibile un asino che vola! Una donna/ragazza di poco più di 20 anni che è rimasta vergine per tutte quel tempo sicuramente non cederebbe la sua verginità con tanta facilità e di certo non ad uno sconosciuto, Sexy Rock Star o no. Inoltre la Rock Star in questione ci penserebbe, credo, un secondo prima di sverginare una sconosciuta, certo vuole fare sesso e cosa vuoi che gli interessi se è vergine o no, però dovrebbe essere almeno un po' sgomento dalla situazione! E invece no, tutto normale. Bah....che poi ne rimanga così intrigato è veramente inverosimile. Detto ciò ci sono altre piccole cose che non mi sono piaciute (il contratto...etc..) ma niente di così significativo da rovinare la lettura (cosa che invece ha fatto la situazione citata sopra). Quindi, se devo essere sincera non lo consiglio a tutti. Sicuramente non a chi non legge in inglese (ovviamente) e, per quelli che cercano un bel romance e non sono fan della Singh, direi che vi conviene cercare altrove, per carità forse potrebbe anche piacervi, ma se siete indecisi tra questo e un altro libro allora è meglio che leggiate l'altro e lasciate questo per quando non avete niente da leggere ed è meglio se lo fate con basse aspettative. Forse potreste, al contrario di me, innamorarvene. Per chi invece vuole farsi un idea sulla Singh "NON LEGGETE STO LIBRO". Molto meglio le altre sue saghe (Guild Hunter o Psy Changeling) anche se sono mooooolto lunghe per cui, se siete allergici alle lunghe saghe allora ve le sconsiglio, premettendo però che anch'io tendo a non amarle ed, al contrario evitarle, unica eccezione ovviamente sono quelle delle Singh (e tra l'altro sono Paranormal quindi meglio che le legga solo un amante del genere). Per chi invece conosce già la Singh posso dire che conviene leggerlo più che altro per ritrovare lo stile che tanto amiamo, mentre aspettiamo che escano i seguiti delle altre due saghe, senza aspettarsi però nessun capolavoro né un libro all'altezza di quelli già letti fin'ora dell'autrice.
