No words. So good. No smut in this one. The beginning of her story ends when Arion is brought back.

This is a weird book. I’ve never read anything like this its very original and unique magic system. The FMC is Nice but naive and the MMCs are funny and badass. I really enjoyed the fact that it is very slow burn. I predicted the plot twist but it didnt ruin my read, it was What a wanted and i guess it was done on purpose. Anna is perfect i loved her so much with her rude humor it was awesome. The story was missing a little action to my liking and some world building but there are a lot of books in this series so i Hope it gets better ! A very fun read

Listen, the premise is amazing – I was intrigued. The issue, however, is that the characters aren't really that likable. Idk, it isn't what I expected. I was looking for an RH with a strong main character who doesn't let men SHE JUST MET BTW dictate/control everything she does. She is a bit too accepting of what they say/do without asking questions–and when she DOES ask, they say "you don't need to know" and she just accepts it. I am really not a fan of the whole "we won't tell you the truth for your own good/safety" trope/plot point because it ends up backfiring anyway.

This was my second read and I can't remember how I got 3 books into the series before I stopped 2 years ago.

I’m so conflicted about this. Is it problematic or is it just a word, because this is completely paranormal/fantastical setting. Yes, I don’t know what to do about the word gypsy. Because it feels like it could be just replaced by a new species/name of a subgroup of human-like people and contextually book wouldn’t even change.
Otherwise it is a perfectly funny, but perplexing bit of fiction. There’s the standard ghostly sassy girl, who’s mostly unhinged. There’s Violet who’s still very mysterious by the end of the book even to readers, but even more so to other characters. The men are squabbling chickens, don’t mistake me - it is fun, but sometimes it’s a bit much.
And Ace is by far the most enjoyable, even while encompassing the biggest plot twist (though it can be caught beforehand if you’re really observant).
