The last time I read Ashley Herring Blake was when I read Girl Made Of Stars ome of the most devastating and heartwrenchkng YA books I've ever read so I was interested to see what she did with the romance genre.

And oh my god, I loved it so much!! Delilah and Claire are absolutely amazing, I love them!!! Watching their relationship blossom was actually so beautiful I loved it, how soft they were with each other.

I really loved Claire's daughter Ruby too I love that it was a book focusing on the fact the LI had a child and the struggles that comes with that as well as her coparenting with her ex, Josh. It made for a very interesting dynamic and the way Delilah treated Ruby was beautiful.

I hated both Astrid and Iris at the start but Iris especially was a character I absolutely grew to love I cannot WAIT to read her book!!! Astrid is a character I definitely came to understand more come the end of the book but I wouldnt say is a character I really like still but I'm interested to read her book next.

Overall, I loved this book so much and I vant wait to read more of Ashley's books in the future.

10/10. One of the best romance books I've read maybe ever. Definitely one of the best sapphic books I've read. Also, I made the most highlights and notes of maybe any other books. I almost wanted to highlight the whole book, it was that good. I don't want to compare two sapphic books just because they were sapphic but one of my other favorite sapphic romance is One Last Stop and in that book, the main character is very me but in this book, the love interest (Claire) is very me. Also, in One Last Stop, the love interest (Jane) is very much my type but in this book, the main character (Delilah). I love Delilah and Claire more than almost anything else right now. They are both so vulnerable and desperate for love. Also, the sexual tension and sex scenes in this book are just phenomenal. On a final note, Ashley Herring Blake’s writing made me feel so deeply. I absolutely devoured this book and ended up reading 50% of it, no exaggeration, in one day which is not typical for me. In addition to the amazing writing, I also enjoyed how the third-person POV alternated between Delilah and Claire to get both of their perspectives while also maintaining that the main character is still Delilah. Overall, I think I’m late to the game since I see this book recommended everywhere but I am joining those voices to say that this book is incredible and that I highly, highly recommend it if you love sapphic contemporary romances.

This was the sweet little slice of romance I needed after reading so many horror books back to back. It was a classic trope of a character moving away from their hometown only to be brought back by some event and falling in love with someone from their childhood. In this case Delilah, returns for her estranged stepsister’s wedding and falls in love with her stepsister’s childhood best friend, Claire.
I’m a little bit of a sucker for a miscommunication trope, but executed well. & I was a little frustrated by it in this one just because I felt if Claire just talked to Delilah instead of assuming shit things might have gotten resolved quicker-ish. But it wasn’t the worst.

Ok I liked this one! It wasn't my favourite but I didn't have any major hang-ups or impediments to my enjoyment. I enjoyed the pairing of prickly Delilah with sweet Claire - classic combo, and the two have a ton of great chemistry. The sex is very sexy!! I appreciated how the ploy encouraged both MCs to grow and accept themselves more fully.

My one plot issue was the whole "sex bet" aspect - I felt like there was enough internal and external conflict and good enough reasons for their relationship to be tested/have a black moment without it. It's mentioned once at the beginning of the book and then doesn't come up again until it's time for the third act break up so it rly felt like Chekov's Sex Bet. Otherwise a nice little book and I will definitely read the rest of the series!
