The love I've grown to have for Mischa is so different from the adoration I've long since known for Jessa. They are two VASTLY different people, and as such inspire a different kind of love, though one is no less than the other. I feel so much closer to Mischa, however. So much like her. She has a more meek, mild manner than her twin sister. Though when provoked, she is a force to be reckoned with.

Mischa is growing to accept the hand she has been dealt, though that acceptance can only go so far. When Max comes back from his self-imposed solitude, EVERYTHING changes. Mischa is no longer sure of the future that lies before her. All she knows is that she will do anything to keep her daughter safe and to protect her heart.

Max has been dealt a massively devastating hand. He has known manipulation that no one saw coming. He has suffered great loss. And yet...It doesn't feel like an ending to him. His life is far from over. He has many more challenges to come, and he will have one heck of a time proving that he is worthy of a second chance at happiness.

This companion novel to the Supernatural Prison series is HIGHLY recommended. Though I would advise readers to first explore the Supe world through Jessa's eyes, before delving into the complexities of this spin-off book.

Loved it!!

Amazing following from the trilogy! I'd waited for this story since the others ended and let me tell you, it did not disappoint. This is my second time reading it and I can't get enough! Once again Jaymin, you have done an amazing job!

This one, though tagged as a Supernatural Prison Story - #1, is actually book 4 in the series. While you do not HAVE to read the first trilogy, Jesse's story, (start with Dragon Marked) - it helps, as you will already know all of these characters and why the loss of Maximus's mate is such a big deal, and why it's not.

I found this book harshly painful. Everything that Mischa went through, and what she is going through.... as well as why. It's all tied together and it all just sucks, though the end makes up for the rocky start. I love Maximus, and I love how everything evolves and resolves here, though the metaplot is not done.

Broken compass

After all the heartache between these two in the first three books I loved reading their story. I felt bad that max felt so guilty when there was nothing he could do. Misha on the other hand was so understanding about everything and it really showed what type of person she is. Amazing story and I can’t wait to read more!

**********Contains Spoilers**********

I’ve been a fan of Jaymin Eve’s, ever since I was recommended First World (A Walker Saga) Book 1 on Amazon back in 2015 and have read pretty much all her books, some even multiple times. I enjoyed this book and I especially liked that it was written in dual POV from both Mischa and Maximus perspectives, unlike the first three books that were only written in Jessa’s POV. I’m glad that Mischa redeemed herself from the first three books in this series, as she made some extremely naive and stupid decisions while they were all in the Dragon Marked Sanctuary in Romania but after finding out that she was pregnant with Max’s baby and feeling so alone. It’s no wonder she was so emotional and messed up in the head. She was thrust into the supernatural world after living in the human world her whole life, with a mother who tried her best but wasn’t the warmest towards Mischa as she was separated from her true mate, so Mischa was always alone. At the end of Dragon Mated, Max’s true mate Cardia (who he met in Romania was killed in the final battle with the Dragon King Larkspur). Mischa comes clean that she’s pregnant with Max’s baby. Mischa’s wolf has always told her that Max is her true mate but the first thing she was told when she arrived in Stratford is that true mates can only be of the same supernatural race as you, so shifter and shifter.

Mischa planned to tell Max about the baby but he was keeping his distance after losing his true mate, and then he left Stratford before she had a chance to tell him. Max left because he needed to get away from the guilt in protecting everyone else over his true mate, and she ended up being killed in the final battle. Not everything is as it seems, as the pain of losing Catia seems to be lessening the more time has passed. Was Catia actually Max’s true mate, or was it because they got to spend very little time strengthening their bond and getting to know each other considering they were trying to save the world. You’ll need to read this book to get these questions answered. I loved seeing that Mischa grew a pair and learn to stand up for herself. The more comfortable she became in her own skin, the closer bond she forged with her twin Jessa and the Compasses (minus Max since he’s away clearing his head) she finally became part of their Pack. Wow, the chemistry between Mischa and Max is undeniable. I’m looking forward to reading Tyson and Grace’s story next, and finding out what’s happening to Louis as he collapsed after stopping the demon that Kristoff, had summoned and allowed him to use his body, in his need for unstoppable power. I hope he’s okay. I’d definitely recommend this book, series and author to everyone.

4.5 stars.

Mischa really surprised me in this book. Like most people I wasn't particularly fond of Mischa. I didn't think she was strong enough to be Max's mate but she proved me wrong. She was strong and level-headed and didn't blame anyone but herself for her mistakes. She was stronger than I would have thought possible and a lot of her attributes surprised me. I am really glad I gave this book a go.

This book was terrible, it doesn't even deserve a rating, I can't believe people like this.

Editing issues, especially the last freaking line of the story!
