2.5 stars might even be too generous.
I just felt like there was so much wrong with this book. The overall story was ok, but the MMC, Noah, he felt so controlling at times and also he kept calling Shay WIFE. The amount of times I read the word WIFE was appalling and a huge turnoff in the book.

Gennie is probably the only character that made this book earn the stars it did.

Sometimes when books are popular, I often wonder if I read the same book.

I laughed, I cried, I enjoyed the spice. This book made me laugh out loud and made me feel all the feels. It is well-written and very relatable in many senses. I love that Shay is a teacher and that she wears quirky earrings and she’s unafraid of being herself. I also fell in love with the foul-mouthed pirate child Gennie. She was astute and full of wisdom beyond her years, while also being a hilarious kid. Grumpy sunshine and friends to lovers is always a good combination for me for a romance so I liked that too!

“I know it’s insane to ask this but if you can go along with me for five minutes, I will personally plow and plant your fields whenever you want it. Okay?” ❤️🍓❤️🍓❤️🍓

Shay has her heart broken and receives news that she is the sole recipient of a family farm in Friendship, Rhode Island. There are just a couple of rules in order to keep it…she must live there for a year and in that year she must also get married 😬 Noah is a broody grump who owns the farm next door and is the sole guardian of his niece and has had a crush on Shay since they were best friends in high school…🔥

This had amazing tension and the spice was HOT 🥵 Noah is this big, gentle, grump who is anything, but “gentle” in the bedroom 🔥😮‍💨 I love Shay and Noah’s dynamic as a couple. His quirky niece was adorable. The town of Friendship was everything you love and hate about a small town. I absolutely loved this book 🥰
