Hard to rate a book like this low, as it discusses racism, struggle to be seen, society that uses us and spits us out, especially one that was probably as daring as this was when released in 1950's.....but it was longer than I think it needed to be. Fast-paced, crazy series of events in daily life, and yet still relatable in 2025.

aw guys i don’t know i liked reading this and i’m reading some of the low reviews and people didn’t like all the insignificant events and matter-of-fact tone which is understandable but i’m into thattt i liked reading this it wasn’t bad at all Anddd my fav part was the narrator’s speech at Tod Clifton’s funeral, maybe because the event is still a regular occurrence in today’s society i’m not sure but it stuck with me
