A quick read. While it was lighter it did deal with some heavier themes. The progression of the relationship was nice, to see them both start to open up and trust each other more. Easy read between bigger series.

I really enjoyed this. It’s just another fun read from Dixon with really lovable characters.

This story is dual POV, well written, and a sweet and steamy, fantasy romance that incorporates a character working with a disability and another overcoming mental health issues associated with being enslaved. I enjoyed Valessa’s survival instincts and the adaptability with which she approached every situation. I enjoyed Ranan’s consent focus, and his determination that he would only accept from Valessa what she wanted to give, instead of accepting everything she was willing to offer. I empathised with Ranan’s speech difficulties as well as Valessa’s hurt from his unintentional clumsiness with words. I enjoyed the relationship development, and the building intimacy. I enjoyed the world building. I enjoyed the resolution and the joy it brought both characters.
