An interesting biographical event in the life of Paul Robeson, who visited the front lines in Spain during the Spanish Civil War, singing for the troops. While he sang, all fighting ceased on both sides.

This is a fun picture book. I especially enjoyed the story once I read the paragraphs at the end, especially the one contextualizing the author's values related to artists being citizens of the world and acting according to your beliefs (which can be harmful, I suppose, depending on your beliefs).

This children's book tells about Paul Robeson and his journey to bring music to the front lines of the Spanish Civil War. I hadn't heard much about him before this book, and the author tells the story clearly and in a way that teaches children about her grandfather.
