The writing did slightly remind me of Wattpad (the word “orbs” was used once to refer to eyes) and ultimately not for me.

The MMC, Rome, is a character that exists solely to devote himself to the FMC, Janelle. I can completely see why that appeals to readers, but I personally found him to be flat and lacking personality.

Very spice-heavy for a relatively short book.

Such a fun, sexy read! A bit heavy on the instalust and family drama for my tastes, but it was very well handled. I really enjoyed reading Janelle's journey to putting herself first, and I appreciated that she
didn't forgive her mom or sister by the end.
Rome was a great hero who paid attention to all the little things!

LOVE A BLACK WOMAN FROM ♾️ to ♾️
The tiktok girlies were right. I will say, real people on book covers give me pause and the blurb scared me so much because what a mess???!!
But what a delicious book. I kept reading Rome as Tyrese(Roman in Fast and Furious).

With that being said, I loved it. It felt like the vibe of best man holiday but make it a destination wedding with a young(ish) group and less chaos

I wish Amerie and Arnold the absolute  worst in life. Two horrible people.
Janelle is a better woman than me because wtf? I wish she was an ant and went to the earth’s crust with that raggedy ass sister and mother.

Rome… that’s a black king right there
I wish my two cuties, Janelle and Rome all  the best. It’s what the deserve
