5/5 Chef’s kiss!! No notes! EVERYTHING about this book was amazing! The dialogue was fantastic. In romance books, I have an issue with how men’s dialogue is written and sometimes it comes off as not believable. However, this author hit the mark on how men speak and it was great to read! I immediately purchased the physical and annotated for reference. I will read this again in a year to see if I still feel the same.

This was a great read and if it turns into a series, I will definitely be back for more! This was the first full-length audio book I've read and the narrators did a great job. They kept me engaged and I read it almost in one sitting.

I really liked Janelle and Rome together, they had a lot of chemistry and I really felt like they got each other. Rome was so in-tune to what Janelle feeling and how she was treated by others, and made sure to always put her first. He made big and small gestures and I really felt like he saw and loved all of her.

I liked how deep Janelle was. She spent a lot of the book being walked-over by her sister, ex and mother but we still got glimpses of her being strong, before she finally pushed back, put herself first and set strong boundaries. My only issue is that she made the decision to not go to the wedding, and then at the last minute changed her mind. I get that she was doing it for herself and not her sister, but her sister (and ex) was a real piece of work, and in my opinion, did not deserve Janelle's olive branch of attending the wedding.

The sister and her finance (Janelle's ex) were both awful people and everytime they appeared in a scene I wanted to strangle them. They were self-centred and toxic, and even after Janelle called them out for their behaviour, they tried to turn it around and play the victim. They are undeserving of forgiveness, and I think they'll be divorced within a couple of years of the end of the book.

absolutely brilliant

I don’t greatly know what’s wrong with me because i pray i find a Rome in my life. Rome is the absolute perfect man for any woman who has been scorned by her family and even men.
