4 shocking stars to Tear Me Apart! ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️
Mindy Wright skis competitively, and she is on the verge of a breakout when she suffers a horrific crash. She sustains not just life-changing, but also life-threatening, injuries. Shockingly, her doctors find she has leukemia while she is undergoing surgery.
When a stem cell transplant is what she needs to survive, both her parents receive routine screening. Neither is a match...and neither parent is biologically related to Mindy!
Time is of the essence to save Mindy’s life, but in order to find a match, all the years of lies will have to be unfurled one at a time. Which parent knows the truth? And which one will take it too far to protect Mindy and the harbored secrets?
Once Mindy is diagnosed with leukemia Tear Me Apart was off to the races with all the twists and turns. I did not find the twists overly shocking, but just enough to keep the tension mounting, layer upon added layer. When the pacing was on in this longer than average book, it was ON, and that made the time “commitment” more than worth it.
Tear Me Apart encompasses family drama laden with secrets, while also addressing topics of mental illness, missing children, and competitive skiing. How they gel together is a captivating roller coaster ride of a read.
Thank you to MIRA/Harlequin for the review copy. All opinions are my own.

First book by J.T. Ellison that I have read, due to winning an ARC from a Goodreads giveaway! Gripping story from beginning to end! Hated to put it down! Loved it and want to pick up her other novel, Lie to Me, very soon!! #stmartinspress #giveaway
I .... give up. I can't get into it, and well, I just do not care. Maybe later.
dark
mysterious
tense
medium-paced
While predictable at times, I enjoyed the story a great deal. Good find, and I think it'll make a good movie. Not that i know if they're making a movie.
This book is every bit of a psychological mind-bender, for sure. I'm looking forward to reading other books by this author.
Holy cow! Could not put this down. Devoured the story, loved the twists and turns.
Wow this was such a wonderful book. It was intriguing and mysterious and so much more! I don't want to spoil to much, but if you like a family drama and a mystery you'll probably like this book. The protagonist Mindy is a potential olympic skier that has a really bad accident within the first few minutes of the book. As she's getting checked out, it becomes even worse and family secrets and mysteries come about. Just go read it :)
Had me completely hooked, but the ending was a bit of a let down. Some loose ends were not tied up, and I felt some of the biggest twists were predictable.
This book is absolutely phenomenal! As a skier myself, I loved the attention to the detail of the sport. As a reader, I loved the way the story kept twisting and making me guess!
