I have to admit I wasn't sure about reading a book from Darcy's perspective. After reading Something Borrowed and watching the movie, Darcy was not my favorite character. I had to put the book down several times because I couldn't take how swallow she is for most of the book.
SPOILERS AHEAD!!!!!!!!
Although I'm glad that Darcy eventually turns her life around, it took more than half of the book for her to get there. While I know that Rachel did the unthinkable, Darcy seemed to blame her even after she had "forgiven" her. It was really hard for me to feel bad for her when she admitted that even before Marcus she had "sort of" cheated on Dex. It was hard for me to swallow her betrayal of "martyr". In the end Giffin did an excellent job telling Darcy's story. Unfortunately Darcy was a character I could not love. I was still intrigued with Rachel and Dex, and wanted to know more about their life together. I also felt bad that Ethan had to be the guy to help Darcy find redemption. For me he deserved someone better.... I was also upset that the friendship between Ethan and Rachel seemed to fizzle out as well and Darcy was because of that.
Still a well written book.

for a quick chick-lit I can recommend this book. relatively unoffensive (since I'm not nearly THIS shallow) and a happy ending. the first book in awhile that I could just zip through.
I didn't like the first part of this book, I kept thinking Darcy's selfishness was better suited as Rachel's counterpart and not the main character. Then the whole thing turned around (albeit rather predictably) upon her move across the pond. I couldn't put it down after that.
not really how i thought Rachel and Darcy's story would turn out but i definitely enjoyed it.

Ehh it was okay. Realistic but also not... Maybe I'm a cynic but it felt like too much of a happy ending for someone who was painted as a villain from the last book and 2/3 of this one. But alright.
Just okay
Didn’t love it. Didn’t hate it. Glad to see Darcy get her sh*t together finally. She was insufferable in the 1st book.

I enjoyed this book more then Something Borrowed. Emily Giffin is a talented writer and this story in particular was a great story of love, friendship, and redemption with a little bit less of the morally complicated issues of cheating, lying, and deceit as presented in the first book.
