A delicious appetizer

Of course I want more. This lil prequel did exactly what it was meant to do - make e want to read more. Gio and Clara are a perfect star crossed mafia couple with such dark back story it make the reader ache for them.

Wow a great taster that makes me want to start this series incredible angst throughout with a touch of innocence...

Under the Mafias rule as it changes hands a forbidden love blossoms

really good.

It may be short but it packs a huge punch and leaves the reader wanting more. Clara and Gio have a connection that needs to be kept secret, but when Clara's sister is in trouble Gio puts the girls first and sends them away. I cannot wait to read the next book in the series to see what happens next.

Tough Love was a better read than I thought it would be. Yes, Clara can be a little naive, but she has been kept locked away secluded her whole life so it makes sense. Plus she is only fifteen years old.

Clara dreams of being able to roam around in the outside world. She wants to go to school, and parties, and just anything except being locked up in her room all the time. She does have a secret though - she sneaks off at night to the pool house and tries new things. It is there that she met Giovanni who is two years older and a foot soldier's son. There could never be anything between them no matter how much they both might want it.

Clara's sister has just gotten engaged to this horrible man who is taking over the business from her father. He is not a good person and when things happen that put Clara in jeopardy as well as her sister they need to escape. Can she leave Giovanni? Or maybe he will go with them? What should they do and how can they get somewhere safe from their mob family?

This was a quick read, but better than I expected. I liked Clara even though she was naive, and maybe we will get to see Giovanni and her again in a future book. We shall see as the next book, book 1 in the series, is about Clara's sister. Overall a good read and I look forward to reading more about these characters.
