Domestic thrillers are a dime a dozen. But every once in a while, one comes along that has a little extra zing! This was oh so fun!
There is a lot going on, and you do have to suspend disbelief on a lot of plot points, but it's absolutely worth it! None of the characters are likable, and yet, you still find yourself invested and caring about what happens. They're all a little flawed. And you wonder if some are more than a little crazy. You'll also wonder if many are a little (or a lot) guilty.
This is my first book from this author, and she does a fantastic job with misdirection and will keep you guessing. I did have it figured out, sort of, but I changed my mind a million times on the way there!

Cute, quick read but also a little cringe. Why are these women so desperate?

Okay, this one was wild! I've been seeing some really good reviews lately and thought it sounded interesting, so I got it from my library. And boy, am I glad I did because this is a RIDE. I thought this would just be a story about a woman who becomes obsessed with the husband of her heart donor but at about the halfway point, it turns into a completely different story. I loved the way the author wrote this so that you thought you knew what was going on, but you really have no idea just like the main character. I love a book with some multimedia aspect to it, so that was an added bonus as well. I will say the story wrapped up just a little too quickly at the end for me but otherwise - this is a fresh new premise for a thriller and would love to see what else this author dreams up!

Rosie Lachlan is the recipient of a heart transplant. Before her heart transplant, her heart was broken by her boyfriend when he dumped her. Rosie believes her new heart is from Daphne Thorne, wife of best-selling author Morgan Thorne. Rosie e-mails the donor family using the DonorConnect system, which allows the recipient and the donor family to remain anonymous unless they decide to reveal their identity. She is obsessed with sending messages to Morgan Thorne and reading the messages she receives from him. Rosie believes her new heart will automatically know Morgan Thorne, and that Morgan will feel connected to her because of Daphne’s heart. However, Rosie learns that not everyone loves Morgan Thorne and some even believe he killed his wife. Although she hasn’t met him yet, Rosie starts to wonder if she could be putting herself in danger. Regardless, she forges ahead with learning more about Morgan Thorne and Daphne. Rosie is in love with love and will do anything to find “the one”. I found the story engaging from the first page, and I enjoyed the mostly short chapters. At the halfway point, there was a big change in perspective that I found confusing. Things do wrap up at the end, but I just didn't enjoy that switch in the middle.

This book had me captivated at the start. Unfortunately, by the last 50-100 pages I was losing interest. It started to drag and became something of a bore for me. I was hoping for a more exciting and shocking ending. There were twists in here, but my expectations were higher.
Originally, I thought this book was going to be 4-4.5 stars. Near the end, I noticed a mistake of character names being used and it threw me out of the world.
I just wish the ending was more shocking. I wanted so much more and it was looking so promising at the start!
