A Dangerous Path is my new fav in the first series. Holy cow. It is THAT good. Part of it is because this book did a great job at paying off the readers who read the earlier books with a story that brings all the characters and plot points coming together for a story that is able to address all the plot points it needs, dive deeper into characterization, and wrap it up in a bow of a sad ending.
You know development is good when you're able to compare and contrast characters from their first appearance to their latest and go "WOW, they're so different!". I kept thinking that throughout this book with a lot of characters, and I can't help but feel proud of them as they're on the last stretch of their journey.
And another thing I love about this book - the worldbuilding. ADP was a perfect reminder of one of the reasons the Warrior series got me hooked. All the clans are equally involved in drama and brewing with their own secrets, unlike other fantasy series which give too much attention to the main character's group. The cat lingo ("YOU LAZY FURBALL!"), the other animals, the awareness of the seasons, the use of the forest setting to their advantage...its tightly woven together and satisfyingly executed.
Not to mention the plot-twists. They're not ground-breaking or whatever, sure. But they have great-build-up and help keep the main plot afloat (something I felt earlier Warrior books struggled with), which is much better than things getting pulled out of nowhere. In my final review for The Prophecies Begin I'll most likely go more in-depth on everything, but for now this is all I can do.
TL;DR: GREAT EVERYTHING!!! Super depressing but with great and unique conflict to what is seen so far, good non-shallow characters (including the main love interest), really mature for a kids book. (5/5)

This book was decent, but I feel like there were a few things which didn't make it the best book in the arc.
The new antagonists for the book were pretty obvious long before they made their appearance so the usual mystery in the series of figuring out the prophecy wasn't as interesting as usual. In addition, I found the section where they were running after the Clan pretty awkwardly paced. The consequences of it were well done (although convenient) but the actual action scene was pretty meh.
In addition, while Bluestar was clearly shaken up by the end of Book 3, I feel like the authors made her act a little too irrationally just to increase trust in Fireheart in time for the final battle in Book 6.
Overall, there were some wholesome scenes in this book and some well-written chapters/sections, but some other areas made this book less entertaining than a usual Warriors book.

out of the whole series so far this book caused me the most anger. i felt like bluestar’s whole storyline was dragged on for no reason, like literally anytime she opened up her mouth i would get pissed off. but i am very content with like the last 10% of the book
sorry not sorry but i am so glad bluestar died, she redeemed herself at the end by coming back to save fireheart but man was she ever psychotic in this book. like changing brightpaw’s name to lostface that is just plain cruel.
i am very glad that graystripe is back in thunderclan and that sandstorm and fireheart have fixed their relationship.
not at all surprised by tigerstar’s actions, but i was shocked that he was bold enough to quite literally work hand in hand with the dogs.
here’s to hoping that the last book ends off the series well. please don’t do fireheart dirty.

Slow in the first half but the second... jesus, give Fireheart a break! We still haven't dealt with the "big bad" yet and I'm angry about it
