I couldn't wait to begin this book, and finishing something in less than 24 hours is something i haven't done in a while. The thing about these books that i hated in the beginning but have come to enjoy, is the calm pacing of the story, that evolves realistically without following a scale, which is something i've yet to achive myself. This book is rough, but so enjoyable in so many ways, i can only hope the next will be the same.
Second read:
Mighty Starclan this just remains being an amazingly developping series, better and better as it goes and excellent at keeping up with its own themes and threads even when I'd forgotten about it.
I know that the popularity of Bluestar really decreases for most readers in this book, if not already before, and i will admit i often sat there begging her to see some sense, but i also get it. She is being irrational and paranoid, but not for no reason. She's been traumatized and was not given the recovery she most needed; a chance to step down as leader for a while. Maybe even permanently. I know i know, she would never agree to that, but if not even Whitestorm could help her, then the best for everyone would be to take away her power for good. Of course, the book wouldn't be half as interesting if they'd done that from the start, but the fact that nobody even considers it is kind of dumb. I truly love how realistic and tragic her dive into madness was, and especially as it really gave Fireheart the chance to show the clan his worth as a leader in her place.
That was a long bit, but one i needed off my chest because i have so much to say about the first series, so much of it unbelievably positive considering how the rest contains so much more of my rage and dissapointment. Truly, re-reading reminds me why i just keep going despite the bigger part of it being crap.
Five stars still, and now off to the sixth and final!

I knew it! I new it, I knew it, I knew it! These books are predictable, but not that super duper predictable. I knew that it meant Fireheart when they said that fire alone could save the Clan. And of course Graystripe comes back to ThunderClan eventually. But Bluestar dying was really sad. But either she dies or goes back to normal. And going back to normal was never gonna happen. The author isn't gonna waste two books on Bluestar not being herself. Still sad.
But one question. With Graystripe and Silverstream's kits, they said that the kits go with their mother's Clan. Following that logic, why would Bramblepaw and Tawnypaw belong in ShadowClan? They're ThunderClan's! It seems like everyone's just trying to steal kits from ThunderClan.
And TigerStar's just evil. But we already knew that. Waging war on WindClan because of dogs stealing prey? That doesn't make sense. Attacking ShadowClan for TigerStar trying to get the dogs to kill all of ThunderClan? Yes, that makes absolute perfect sense.
When they tell that story at the next Gathering.... That won't be pretty. I wonder if the rest of ShadowClan even knows about it. And what will RiverClan and WindClan say? They have to tell about it at the Gathering. It doesn't make sense not to. But so far, I think I like the 3rd one the best.

REREAD. So good ! Bluestar is one of my favorite character so obviously her death destroyed me, however I was mad at her when she became crazy. She used to be such a great leader so I don’t understand why she became like that just because what Tigerstar did, I truly believe she was stronger than that.
I don’t really ship Fireheart and Sandstorm but they’re cute. On the contrary, I’m a huge Cloudtail and Lostface shipper, they’re so cute !!
I’m so glad to see Graystripe again, I missed him so much ! I loved the scene when he save Fireheart life especially because Fireheart told Stonefur and Mistyfoot the truth about their mother.
It was so good ! Even if I didn’t really like the danger in this book, like the dogs thing, I think it was weird.

Oh my god. Even though I knew all of that was coming, it still made me literally sob. Brightpaw!! Swiftpaw!! Brindleface!!! Bluestar!!!!! It’s all so unfair ㅠㅠ
For real though, I really appreciate this aspect of the books in a way? I’m not generally one of those people that’s like “well obviously books are better when they’re full of death and darkness, happy books are stupid and a waste of time” but in this case I feel like it just... fits the setting. Like, these cats are literally living in the wild and fighting for their lives. It’s just a given that some (read: a lot) are going to die, whether it’s from starvation or sickness or a crazy murderer (looking at you, Tigerstar).
From what I’ve seen, this aspect sort of disappears in the later books once they started gaining more popularity and had to be more “kid friendly” I guess, and that makes me a bit sad. It makes me appreciate this first series all the more, which to me is the spirit of Warriors in its truest form. I just love these books so much, I love Fireheart and all the cats and it’s so fantastic watching them all grow. I’ve missed these guys a lot.
Anyway, see you next time on “Danielle gets incredibly emotional and passionate about childrens’ books”!
