Let me just start out by saying that queer dark academia is probably my favorite genre to read. This book was so, so good. The first half did drag a bit, but the twists and turns more than made up for it. I love books where some things I can predict and some things I had no idea would happen. This book left me shocked and a little frightened at times. Ellis gave me huge JD from Heathers vibes which I loved.

This book was creepy, mysterious, and had twists that made my jaw drop. I found myself reading some parts again just to process what happened because it shocked me so much. All in all, this is a great book that I would 100% recommend.

Book moved a bit slowly, then a ton crammed into the end. Wish some of the storylines were fleshed out a bit more

enjoyed it. i like the way lee writes and how they depict felicity’s fragile mental state, letting it settle in its complexities and conduct the plot as such. imagery was A+ for the supernatural and mild horror aspect. dark academia was questionably executed; it definitely had the feeling of dark academia but there were sometimes that it definitely felt like they were overdoing it for the aesthetic, ironically as the book mocks those who do things for the aesthetic. also felt like the “dark academia intellectual” just began to sound pretentious rather than adding to the story.

overall though, i enjoyed it. satisfied me in the dark academia psychological horror lesbian department.
