It was for sure a charming read. The witty banter between Henri and Corinne compelled me to eagerly read every chapter until the very end.

Sooooo I was loving this book but it did do some things that I wasn't a big fan of so it has a low 4 instead of a 5 stars. This is about a young man who is working hard to get into the collage of his dreams and is running his own dog walking business which he built on lies. One of his classmates discovers his lies and blackmails him into helping her get in with the social crowds since he is notoriously charming. Obviously they start catching feels for each other in the process..

Spoiler
I wish he didn't do it. I think that plot point would have been better at the beginning of the story to set the tone and to spend the time repenting and making up for the mistake. I feel at the point it was at it was too much.. It was believable and I dont think the book is bad for having it, but for a romance story it wasn't as enjoyable because it was harder to root for him after AND it just wasn't was I was expecting I guess.

I did like the characters and the different dynamics that I got throughout the story. I did like some of the lessons although I do feel like he got off kinda easy which part of me was grateful for and the other part of me was annoyed. I dont know.

I had to stop when he started to ruin his life. I assume it would have all worked out in the end but it he was making such a stupid decision and it gave me too much anxiety. I just had to stop.

The reason I read, is writing like this. Ben Philippe is an absolute wordsmith and the characters he created you cannot help but fall in love with.

Highly recommend!
