I appreciate Twist's craft, but I didn't enjoy most of this collection. My favorites were "Chords," "In Dying I Become," and "I am the Boundless Space between Oceans of Water and Wheat." The imagery and emotion in them were striking, and stood out to me the most.

Unfortunately, many of the poems are graphically about sex with men. This is already unappealing, and then they were repetitive in their language, tone, and emotional beats. It got boring. It's also hard to feel sympathy when someone knowingly cheats with someone and feels ire toward the third party, so huge chunks of the book just didn't land.
