The author's tone really grated on me, full of simplistic and repetitive sentence structures with patronizing language. When I recommend children's books it will be something less condescending.

Tbh kinda depressing for a book meant for late elementary/early middle schoolers but the plot isn't bad

What a weird book. And the ending. Interesting

We read this as a class in middle school and went on a field trip to the theater when the movie came out. It was epic.
slow-paced

So I think I didn’t care for this book quite as much simply because it wasn’t written for a nearly 30 year old woman. That being said, it wasn’t a bad book.

I did find the uptake on the plot a bit slow but the ending definitely had me!
