This was a good read. It's set in a city where the only light is electric and the supply rooms thought endless seem to be running out of goods. Civil unrest is growing, but only two childhood friends have the information and the courage needed to save the city. First in a series.

So good! I know the movie is going to be lackluster by comparison, but I really loved the understated and sparse quality of this story. A simple but riveting story of another time/place where humans have long since forgotten why they live underground, and two curious young adults find a way to change things for everyone.

This book is very long and is a little childish.

Wow, it's so very different from the movie! Never thought Doon was that moody, or that his father wouldn't be that strong dude he was in the movies. Such a pity. But still, the book holds it's own spark that the movie bears. Both of them are a tad different, but somehow they make it sound so enthralling. It's a lovely book and how two twelve-year-olds manage to solve the pieces of the puzzles is just.. amazing. Truly amazing =)

this one was a little too young, even for me!
