Great setting, flat characters, predictable course of events, but probably just fine for a young audience.

Good middle grade introduction to post apocalyptic literature. It is pretty simple, but mostly fun.

I see why William has torn through these books and is now reading the third. City of Embers has a very complelling plot. I am interested to see the motion picture in October--and sheepishly admit I am half way through the second.

Something about it reminds me of 'The Giver.'

Fun lil nostalgic read

This book has some nice empowering messages but also so many overly simplistic stereotypes that I can't recommend it. Also it is the same dystopian novel that has been repackaged over and over.
