This is an insanely cute and funny m/m romance between an unsporty reporter who gets assigned to try out and report on Winter Olympic sports and the new dude in his apartment building who turns out to be an Olympic-caliber curler. I wish it had been developed more (it seemed too short) and had better location descriptors (at first I thought Canada? then maybe Chicago because Tribune?)

I loved this book purely for the humour element. It was laugh aloud kind of stuff. Following Cody from one winter sporting event to the next was hilarious!

Here are some of my favourite bits - don't read further if you think it will ruin your enjoyment of the story!

"The amount of work she put into her sport was either amazing or incredibly stupid, considering the only time anyone knew this sport even existed was for the two weeks when the Olympics were on television."

"The next moment he was down on the ice with his face pressed against the cage of his helmet. That should be an interesting bruise. Someone would probably think he fell asleep with a waffle stuck to his face."

"Cody knew what he would be thinking about, and it certainly wouldn't be steering some sled down a giant slide made of ice. He'd crash on the first turn and probably break his dick or shatter his balls."

I didn't need the romance to enjoy this book although I enjoyed seeing Cody, even with his broken gaydar, finally get together with Shane.
"In my mind, I've already won the gold medal."
"Me too," Cody said. "And I suck at sports."

A funny, light read, 3.5* rounded up because it was funny!
I really liked Cody's antics when trying the various sports - or failing at the various sports, especially the luge/skeleton! I would have liked more development of the articles, and with Derek and seeing how the finished articles turned out. But it is a short story so only so much can be included.
I liked the romance element, and again I felt I would have been invested more in them with a longer build up, but did enjoy Cody and Shane, just not quite as much as the sports antics!

A journalist who is a real couch potato with no athletic skill what so ever gets a crash course in Winter Olympic sports and hilarity ensues. Cross Country skiing, hockey and figure skating among others makes him black and blue and cranky before he meets the curling team and its gorgeous captain Shane .

A really fun read

This was hilarious! Love the Olympics so that was a nice bonus! This author was new to me so I'm excited I found another author to lookout for! :)

It was... not very good. I think what frustrated me the most was the narrator's complete ineptitude/lack of caring at all about the sports he was reporting on. I didn't buy his job at all and it really annoyed me.

The relationship, meh whatever, it was underdeveloped but that's a common novella problem. Also the secondary romance was WAY rushed, even more-so than the primary romance. There was a lot of "things happened in the background, fun!" but like, it wasn't fun.

I mean, I guess if you really have an itch for m/m curling fic that needs to be scratched? Luckily I accessed this novella via Hoopla, so no money was spent directly on it.
