The writing style of this one felt more juvenile and repetitive than her others works, but still an incredibly powerful and moving story. I only knew a small fraction of what happened in Romania so this was very eye-opening.

I've known some European countries were under communism but I didn't know about Romania's story. While it's fiction, it's still eye opening and, like what the author said at the last few pages, it did spark an interest in me in reading more about Romania's history.
