I liked the content of the poetry, but would have preferred a different format so everything could be discussed more at length.

every time i read this i get a better understanding of what jericho brown is trying to say. he writes with such transparency, intelligence, and vulnerability in his prose. it's gorgeous.

Not a fan of the writing style. Most of the prose went over my head and I didn’t understand what was being said

originally was going to settle for a 4.25 rating but reading duplex: cento really blew me away.

I loved this collection of poems.

I didn’t get all the poems, but I want to. Brown shines a light on what’s it’s like to be black in America.

As any collection of work some pieces are better and some fall flat
For the most part I really enjoyed this even though I don’t read poetry a ton so this was nice despite knowing that some I would’ve liked better if a few things had been tweaked or if the structure had been a little different. The poems do have a satisfying way of sounding nice and that’s always enjoyable
