One of the best books I've read this year. Robin Ince manages to stay utterly hilarious and inspiringly profound at the same time, in almost every paragraph. I have developed a newfound respect for comedy and comedians.

"... be a punchline people want to remember"

'I'm a Joke and So Are You explores a range of personal issues and topics from the point of view of various stand-up comedians. It was nicely-wrriten and an okay read, so I'd award it 3 stars.

The book is made up of 9 chapters, which cover topics such as dealing with grief through humour. However, I found that the consistency of the 'quality' of the chapters varied; I definitely enjoyed some chapters, such as Chapter 8, in which the boundaries of humour and offensiveness are discussed, but really struggled to continue plodding through some of the middle chapters.

To summarise, this book is a fairly interesting read, but I believe that personal preferences will affect how other readers feel about each chapter. Personally, I'd find it easier to give each chapter a star rating, rather than the book as a whole! Nevertheless, it's still worth a read!
