IDK what’s going on but I’ve learned that’s standard when starting new series. Just about everyone attended school the day Stan Lee said it’s best to drop the reader into the middle of the action. Not that this is a bad thing, it just makes for a lot of shrugging on my part and hopes for an actual plot.
