Honestly I only paid attention to maybe 60% of the book. I liked his approach to a lot of subjects but it really did seem like shirt informercial for his coaching / training seminar. Gave similar vibes as you are a bad ass but just geared towards people who are more or less rough around the edges

This is a self-help book that touts the old adage, that only YOU can change your life. If we want something, we can accomplish it if we set our mind to it. I think we inherently know this deep down. Gary likes to remind us in a no nonsense way. He’s more of a coach. He does mention that it’s the self-talk in our head, that could be getting in the way of moving forward which is something I haven’t thought about. It was written 8 years ago and overall there was nothing ground breaking in the advice. One quote that resonated with me was “ Life won’t stop for your pauses and procrastinations. It won’t stop for your confusion or fear. It will continue right along without you.”
Self help books will self help books will self help books, but the Scottish accent can't hurt. (audiobook)
The truth js I found this book very uninteresting. In my humble opinion, It's filled with clichés and I couldn't find a single new perspective
This book was a gift + I'm not much of a self-help (or philosophy) reader, but it's decent. Blunt, concise, funny and not sappy-positive crap. Worth a read!
Unfu*k Yourself
Gary John Bishop
This was a DNF (did not finish) for me. I made it to 33%. He was just so……aggressive…. and not in the motivating kind of way. Definitely not for me.

I'm just grateful that I was cleaning my kitchen while I listened to this waste of resources. At least my time wasn't completely wasted. Nothing in this book was helpful or new. It's a book chockful of superficial platitudes.
Uncomplicated. Straightforward. Get out of your own damn way.
Bonus points for an amazing Scottish accent of the author in the audiobook. It was 3 hours in audio so I got through it in just a handful of listens.

Stoic philosophy with a snappy title. Still, if Marcus Aurelius, Epictetus, T Roosevelt, or Heidegger are your jam, you'll enjoy this quick read. Get the audiobook, so you can savor the author's Scottish accent as he tells you to "get over yer feckin' self."
