Tessa McWatt was asked ‘What are you?’ and she couldn’t answer the question. She wasn’t sure she belonged to a specific race having ancestors from four different continents.

She uses features like nose, lips, eyes, hair, ass, bones, skin and blood to discuss race based on what you look like.

Racism, colourism and belonging are explored in detail.

Think Natives by Akala but in addition to the UK, it also explored Canada.

Very relevant, very topical and very timely.

At first this book gripped me and I thought i'd finish it in a day, but once I put it down, I didn't feel the urge to pick up back up.

Marking this as DNF at 73% after months of thinking I’d go back to it. Maybe I will pick it back up at some point, but I think it lost me!

Had some great sections though :)
