Started off so slow, but second half picked up enough to keep me glued!

I think that this was the best book in the trilogy and it gave soooo many incredible plot points like the quest to the end of the world, the Seige of Dagoska and most unlikely romance. The character work in this book is once again some of the most incredible character work I've ever seen and you continue to understand how deep the motivations and personalities of our characters go

Unfortunately I read the first part of the book years ago and it took me some time to relate to the characters. Even after reading this I can't remember all of the details of the plot.
However the book is sufficiently entertaining to keep you occupied.
The best thing about it is the brutal honesty of the characters. There are no higher moral grounds, there is no preaching, just people trying accomplish their tasks and stay alive.
Good enough to read the third part.

If the first book felt a little too heavy on tropes of the fantasy genre, this one seems to find more of its own voice as a road novel, with the battles doing a good job of bringing out characterization rather than just being excuses for action. The bad guys are complex, the rogues perhaps a bit too charming, but there are stories to be told here and they are brought out well. I surprisingly different book than The Blade Itself, but a good sign for things to come.

much better than the first. even though the violence was disturbingly graphic, the story was great and all that character set-up in the first on finally paid off.
