Would I have liked this book as much if I didn’t love the movie “Wimbledon”? Unclear. But it was an enjoyable read—as easy to put down as it was to pick up again.

I was excited to read this book as soon as I met Carrie Soto in Malibu Rising. Was my excitement tempered by one Abby Dan? Yes. Do I disagree with her summary of this book? No. Did I still love it? Yes. Malibu Rising? A better story for sure, particularly the whole family history and grappling with generational trauma. Daisy Jones? A more satisfying story.
That plot twist when the entire book becomes full of retroactively unreliable narrators was *chef's kiss*

Carrie Soto? Is an independent woman in a time that's not ready for her. But also, she's not a bitch? She's just not very tactful. I love this story of her learning at the ripe old age of 37
that sometimes trying your hardest isn't enough to get you where you want to be.
