Christmas is the spookiest season and I just love these collections of ghost stories from the British Library. This is a set of 12 stories and a novella, all set in and around Christmas - ghosts, mistaken identity, and odd happenings galore. Whole conversations are had with those then revealed to be ghosts. Strangers appear, there’s an occasional tragic death or a prank gone wrong. Once again, so satisfying.

This is a curated collection of spooky Christmas stories, from the 1800s and early 1900s. There’s some classic themes - the sceptical friend does a backfiring ghost prank for one - but it’s a really great selection and just creepy enough!

There’s some others in the series of short story collections and I’m definitely intrigued.

The main perk of being ill, is being made to stay in bed and snooze and read. Hence the devouring of audio books and physical books. This aside.....

A wonderful collection of ghost stories some I knew and some I didn't but all entertaining never the less.

As with all collections some of the stories aren't as strong as others but still they either made me smile or sent a shiver down my spine.

A good pre Christmas read.
