Dr. Faustus is the story of a man who never has enough. The human intellect physically limits him, so he takes it upon himself to bind a contract of divine implications with the devil--it's the classic, "I'll cross that bridge when I get to it" dilemma for the first half of the play: Faustus never gives his damnation much of a thought. Even with constant reminders of his looming mortality, as seen in the good/bad angel sequences, Faustus ponders on it only momentarily before ultimately overshadowing it with his obsession with the entertainment value and social implications of his new powers. Marlowe presents a Faustus with conscience and the independence to choose his own will; there's no denying that he had plenty of chances to repent and break his contract with Lucifer. For this reason the story could be seen as a man in control of his own destiny; however, we never do find out if repenting and denouncing his own sins would do anything, for Faustus does not act on the advice of his good angel. So the question of fate is still left unresolved. At the very least, it's a pretty interesting morality tale, and at the most, it's a philosophical drama that questions the place of religion and fate in our lives. I'd be interested in reading the Goethe text.

Io sono solo orgogliosa del mio inglese
Vou falar a real: eu não entendi muita coisa não kkkkkkk
A essência do livro eu peguei, claro
