I didn't finish this one. I just couldn't get into it. I guess I was hoping for more art history and less war history.

An interesting way to look at the history of WWII. Definitely recommend the audiobook version for folks who are interested to know the story but have had experience with history books feeling dry in the past.

This book was good, telling about a part of WWII I really had not read about before. It was a little slow, but I found the subject matter very interesting.
Good book but hard to keep everything straight. It jumped around a lot because he tried to fit so much in. But a fascinating time and "monumental" task that these men (mostly men) were given and set themselves to.
Interesting history that is widely unknown. The men, and single woman, who contributed to the MFAA (Monuments, Fine Arts, & Archives) certainly do deserve more mention in the history books seeing as a dozen people saved hundreds of years and thousands of pieces of European Art History. However maybe my interest is peaked more than most given my own past and future in archiving.
It took me a couple months to slog through this book, but I'd say it was worth it. Second half was a lot more exciting than the first half, but the background in the first half was beneficial. I don't think the movie did the story justice, but the book did.
