I feel like I have an unpopular opinion with this one- I definitely didn't end up disliking it like I thought I would at 25-35% in. (It was really making me cringe at that point- I won't lie.) However, it also certainly wasn't one of my favorites. The characters did eventually grow on me, and I'm very glad I read it! I think I ultimately just didn't connect with the main characters in this one, but I loved the minor characters/the found family aspect. I even enjoyed it enough to continue on with the series because I can not wait to read Logan's book! ♡

I wanted to like this book and there are parts of it I did enjoy, it’s cute and the characters seems to care for each other, but on page one she mentions “the rape” and it shocked me. I didn’t know ahead of time that this was part of the characters backstory and it was triggering to see it so casually dropped on the page. I can see how the characters seems being able to think about it shows the stage in her healing she is at but I would have appreciated a TW so I knew ahead of time what I was getting into.

Beyond that, there is a lot of slut-shaming and uncomfortable ‘jokes’ that happen that seem unnecessary and cruel. Sure, he’s a macho jock but why is he also a dick to her? The ‘heart of gold’ was more stated than implied.
