4.5 stars ONLY because I had trouble keeping my attention with this book. I really enjoyed the world that was built, the way words and a different culture (for me) was taught/introduced. Felt like an original or non-cookie cutter storyline. The plot twists were great and had me gasping at my book!

Looking forward to what the rest of the series holds. Will be reading the series

"We're so quick to dismiss the sentiment as weak, but hearts beat for love, don't they? A life without purpose may be no life, but a life without love is nothing but an existence. "

I liked this book. The first 200 pages is really intense world building and its own language to understand. After 200 pages, it really picks up and all hell break loose and I love the plot and I can't wait for the sequel!

I was very determined to continue the series, but now I've dnf'ed it and I feel no regrets. All the details escaped my mind the minute I closed the book, and while I think it's a nice book in its genre, I am no longer interested in this type of stories, so I don't think I'm coming back.

I wanted to like this book so so badly and I’m almost sad that I didn’t like it.

You know when you like a book and it doesn’t feel like you’re reading. Well, this book was, for some unknown reason, the complete opposite. I felt like I had to read every sentence, word and letter. Maybe I’ll try again. But for now: dnf
