The Day of Doom by David Baldacci

These characters have been around for 16 other books, written by many other authors, yet it seems like Baldacci didn't read them at all. Most of the characters do not act like themselves. I agree with most of the other reviewers who gave this low marks. Terrible end to this part of the series.

And I know you have to suspend reality to read this series, but at one point hostages are in a truck and they travel 1300 miles without stopping!

Another ending . . . ? This was not my favorite--the little info about Lewis and Clark wasn't enough for me, but I still feel an affinity for those tenacious Cahills.

And so. I could write a review that borders more on the line of a rant, but instead I'll make a short ranty list.

-love triangle? Puke. This book is about the world ending. NOBODY cares about your love life, Amy Cahill.
-also. Amy is supposed to be admirable. "Omigod" and "He was so hot! And smart! And hot!" Is not.
Spoilers:
-NATALIE?! Are you joking?
-let's just kill off Evan so Jake and Amy can be together.

I agree with a previous poster, somebody else should have written the finale. I dropped this book more than once, but trudged through all of the *retch* romance scenes and Vesper One shenanigans to see the book through.

One can only hope Unstoppable will bring some redemption to this series.

If that was the end, I'm disappointed. Balducci seemed as if he was being forced to write this and did not enjoy it. My least favorite of the Cahill Vesper spin-off.

Really good but why did Evan and Natalie have to die!

I know these books are a bit gimmick-y, but I've enjoyed the series from the beginning, mainly because I became attached to the characters. This book did not live up to the rest of the series and felt like a rushed, mess where I couldn't even recognize the characters---especially Amy. :(

Day of Doom

Definitivamente mucho mas oscura y atrevida que la serie principal.

I like the series overall but this book kind of ruined it. The characters and dialogue were flat and off-character. The romantic portion was painfully exaggerated, almost everything was cliche and components just didn’t match up with previous books. I was looking forward to read it and I will finish the series but the writing in this book was a disappointment.
