An interesting look into Elliot Page's life with a writing style that jumps between times to connect themes, occasionally in a way that seems incoherent.
Read if you want to know Elliot's story and his transition, not if you want an exploration of transness.

This book was WOW. As a trans person there as a lot things he said that were so relatable and real.
I love how this isn’t your traditional biography. He doesn’t go in chronological order. Each chapter is like a little story/part of his life to how he got to where he is now. The experiences he explains, as a trans man, are so well explained and real.
This is a MUST READ. You learn so much on how it feels growing up and feeling that something is different and you get to navigate through this with Elliot in this book.
Usually trans books are cringy and hard to read, as a trans person, but this was AMAZING 10/10

This felt like something Elliot Page really needed to write to work through all the difficult things he’s gone through and continues to go through today. I’m really glad I’ve read another first-hand perspective of someone who has transitioned and the difficult emotions surrounding it. I think it was especially powerful to read how he struggled internally and the external horrors he had to deal with constantly, it really shows how far we still have to go to fight for trans rights. I struggled with the format of the book and that the timeline was both not chronological and not well established where we would jump to next, so to be able to connect different anecdotes or memories together was challenging and hard to see the reason for writing this way too.
