As a fan of her Channel 5 series, I decided to read Jane McDonald's "Riding the Waves" to discover more about Jane's roots and how she landed the roles she did in her career. The detail about Jane's early years in music and performing are detailed fantastically, and I really felt that the book allows you to get to know Jane on a more "personal level" so to say.
However, the one downfall of this book (and the reason I didn't give it 5 stars) is that the details about Jane's later steps in her career are not as well documented and sort of, brushed over, let's say. Though there is detail about her life post-'The Cruise', I would have liked a bit more information about the cruises and the opportunities she received via her 'Cruising with...' series. Instead, we find out a lot about her 'Loose Women' career instead.
Nevertheless, a great read and a deserving 4 stars.
