I'm glad I'm finally finished with this series. You can definitely tell that this was originally supposed to be a trilogy. The last two books were pretty pointless.

Oh I enjoyed this! I was a little worried I'd be disappointed after how the 4th book went, but this was such a strong finish to the series. It sort of lacked some of the more witty slapstick style of humor from the first 2-3 books, but had some deeply layered irony that I almost appreciated more at this last stage. Worth making it to the end of the series!

This was funny! I enjoyed this one more compared to the previous two in the series. It just flowed better, feeling more like the original books, and I liked what happened to Arthur. I liked Random too! The ending was really weird to me, though - almost like he didn't intend to end it at that book.

i cannot believe 1) that it took me so long to read these books or 2) that the series concluded like this. but there is almost certainly a universe out there where neither of those things is true, so what does it matter anyway

"What is hope?"
Good question, thought Arthur to himself, and retreated back to his room to think about things. (100)

After So Long And Thanks For All The Fish, Mostly Harmless was a really refreshing read. It was so much more enticing, and while I did feel that it was more structured and meaningful, so to speak, than the first couple of books, I still thoroughly enjoyed making my way through it. Say what you want about the ending, I still think it came together very cleverly. Smashing ending to a mostly smashing series;

Well... at least it finished up the story in a sort of sensible way. Don't ask me to describe the plot though. Will not read book #6 as it's by a different writer and it seems as if the story was meant to end here.
