Aw. That was kind of sad. I generally like non-HEA endings, but this one was kind of disappointing. And funny, but still sad. Also, where’s Zaphod??
This book returns the mind altering explanations, made famous by Douglas Adam's. So if you missed while reading So Long and Thanks for all the Fish, you will be happily rewarded.
Characters have moved on from each other, and it's this distance from each other that this book focuses on. Later of course, Arthur, Ford, and Trillian come together again with a number of twists along the way.
All of which shows how fruitful and imaginively genius our beloved writer truly was.

It was very different reading this one, as it was not as funny as rest, but rather on a more dark and serious note. But still it kept things simple and didn't let it be tense.
The ending was one of the most satisfying ends I have ever read. It hurt a bit, but then, I couldn't think of anything better to happen.

While I agree it's more pessimistic and dark in tone compared to the other books in the series, I loved this absurd, you-end-up-where-you-started conclusion to the series and found it funny.
In fact I think Ford's reaction in the final chapter was the best possible reaction to such a conclusion.
"Through the new strangeness of noise and light he could just make out the shape of Ford Prefect sitting back and laughing wildly."

Not my favorite of the series but still fun and silly and unexpected in all the right ways.

This series DID NOT just end like THIS...
P.S.: Screw you, Agrajag
P.S.: Screw you, Agrajag
Finally done with the series and this last part, which was the worst part. It was soooo boring right from the beginning, that I felt like throwing it away. But somehow got through the first few chapters. Once Ford entered, some scenes and dialogues became funny, but still I did not like the book that much. I really did not get the ending.
