This was probably my least favorite book in Hitchhikers series which was disappointing seeing as it was the finale. This install, while still being a really solid read, lacked the joy and whimsy and sardonic tone of the previous books. This series is far from perfect but it is also one of the most fun and unique things I have ever read and it is absolutely, as a whole, one of my favorite series. This final chapter of Arthur Dent's story was, while fun, lackluster but still worth your time and attention.

I'm going to have to think about how I felt about this book. For most of it I thought, this is a really weak end to the series. But then, Douglass hits you with that ending. Hmm.
