With the introduction of demons, witches, and vampires, Armstrong's world becomes difficult to believe. Its weak for the first few chapters. It took me until chapter 4 (when the story's plot has finally taken off) for Armstrong's world to become believable.
The characters in this story were great. Elena and Clay are still wonderful. I love them. And the ACTION! The action and suspense are great.
By the end of this book, I was a fan of the Otherworld Series again. I'm looking forward to picking up book#3 and spending some time with Savannah and Adam. :D

Loved this one! The introduction to other Supe’s was great and I enjoyed the suspense of this book. I almost had about a dozen panic attacks while reading it.

Ok. I liked this one more than the previous one. The main character was less whiney and self-centered although there was a bit of confusion with some of the plot elements I think. Regardless, it was a fun read.

The second book in Armstrong's WOMEN OF THE OTHERWORLD series, this one is less a romance/accepting one's superpowers story (as the first book, Bitten, was), and more of a thriller/establish the beginnings of a new series read. At book's start, our werewolf protagonist Elena is investigating rumors of werewolves being discovered by humans, and finds herself confronting a whole host of other supernatural creatures that she had never before met, or even believed in. The supernaturals are gathered to warn one another about a human group that is on the hunt for supernaturals. The bulk of the book, though, is Elena's time in captivity at the hands of said group, time which includes some pretty disgusting power/sexual harassment behavior by the bad guys, and Elena having to restrain her natural urge to fight back in order to protect herself and the other captives. She does manage to rescue herself (albeit with a bit of unexpected help), but needs the rest of her Pack, and the other members of the supernatural Council, to rescue the others she left behind.
Rather grisly for my tastes, with lots of killing, of Elena's fellow captives, of the bad guys, and of somewhat "innocent" workers in the prison, the latter to protect the supernaturals' secrets. Especially disliked the climax of the book, with Elena and Clay turning the violent tables on the book's big bad villain. Doesn't tormenting and taunting the bad guys just make you one of them? It's not a moral question the book explores in much detail, although the book does show that each supernatural race has its own moral code, suggesting that this issue may be a point of interest/tension in future books in the series.

Good story, though I didn't like the narrators voice for Elena. The other character voices, I liked.
