This was a long adventure throughout the world of these extremely rich people. So much happening all the time, it was a lot to keep track of! I would really like to check the movie adaptation next and possibly continue the series.

šŸ˜ The good:
I felt that the narration was authentic and I enjoyed the diverse perspectives. The story seemed realistic and it kept having cliffhangers, which really made me curious about what is next. I really felt immersed while learning more about the culture. It was fun, while also having some thoughtful scenes. The audio version was really fast-paced, almost like a movie, and I liked the narrator.

šŸ˜… The not-so-good:
There were a bit too many characters to keep track of, even though I can understand their purpose. It also was a bit overwhelming in terms of jumping from one character to another... I kept forgetting what was happening to each of them.

I did not like this book. The characters (other than a select few- Nick, Rachel, and a few smaller roles) were insufferable. The book could have been at least 100 pages shorter. It was very hard to keep track of all of the characters and dynamics. I know it was supposed to be a satire but I wasnā€™t sure when it was real and I honestly didnā€™t find it very funny. I imagine this makes a much better movie and I am excited to watch it- I think the richness will be much more interesting to see visually and I will be able to keep track of the characters more with seeing faces.
honestly, the best part of the book was the very end, with the focus on just Nick and Rachelā€™s relationship and the other couples - I thought that was interesting and compelling, I was really rooting for Nick and Rachel, and it was interesting to directly contrast the different couples. Also, what the heck was the thing with Michael faking a mistress? That was bizarre.

If you can ignore all the racism,  classism and prejudice it is a funny enough read!
A lot of the book was just a bunch of people sitting around and judging othersā€¦. And when I say a bunch, I mean a confusing amount of characters and names. To be fair, I donā€™t think it helped that I listened to the book, but still; so many characters and names.
I actually really liked the ending, and I applaud Rachel for being the badass she is.

The book was fun to listen to while doing chores and needing something to follow but with not too much stakes. The premise is interesting and the plot certainly entertaining. However, way too much of the book is descriptions of different expensive things, which got boring quickly. Also, the main character had hardly any personality.

I know, I know. Iā€™m late to the party.

Iā€™ve learned a lot about the wealth gap, classism, and money in general as Iā€™ve grown up (and wiser, as they say šŸ˜‰). But Crazy Rich Asians was something else entirely. While I know this is fictional, I wouldnā€™t be surprised at the amount of money people surely drop on crazy things simply because they can.

Crazy Rich Asians follows Singaporeā€™s richest families as they work very hardā€¦ at upstaging their fellow rich frenemies. While the characters flaunt their money in abhorrently lavish ways, the author really draws attention to class discrimination, how many ways someone can turn up their nose at someone or something, and just how incredibly unlikable these characters were. But I guess thatā€™s the point.

This one is for you if you love gossip, extravagance, scheming, and drama. Now Iā€™m off to finally watch the movie!
