June was meh, Gigi way too "perfect", and Bette too dumb.
But I want to know what happens next

All I can say is, I couldn't put it down. As I got deeper and deeper into this dark and twisted story, I found myself nauseated by Bette and June's actions. I myself am a dancer, though I do it entirely for fun, but I have heard how stressful situations like those are. I hope that books like these bring the many struggles that dancers face- anorexia, bulimia, jealousy, bitterness, resentment, bullying, stress, injury, addiction, and more- to light and that they impact the dance community in a positive way. Many of these girls don't truly understand the consequences of their actions until it is too late; a story like this can show them what happens when they don't take care of themselves and respect others. Every day teachers get better and better about caring for their students and encouraging positive actions towards each other and their bodies, and every day the dance world benefits from the awareness books like these bring.

This book really delivered on the psychological thriller/Black Swan type vibe! I could not stop thinking and talking about this book while I was reading it, mainly because it was so bananas. BANANAS I TELL YOU. But I feel like TPT lost something when it could have given readers some closure on the mystery, but decided instead to cliff hanger for a sequel. There's a lot of series/sequel fatigue happening, and I think this one will unfortunately lose during the test of time as a result. What's wrong with a really great stand alone (or even a great first book that ties things up and a second using the same characters and same universe)?

Hmmm. How do I feel about this? I don’t know. I didn’t know what was going on for a lot of it. Relatively realistic which is surprising for a ballet thriller but overall it was just ok. The TV show was better in my opinion.
