Fast-paced and suspenseful, and I loved the influencer aspect. The cast was a little too large, though. The ending was my least favorite part and didn't make a ton of sense to me. I wish there had been a bigger reveal.

This book is an amazing blend of: And then there were none by Agatha Christie, and the movie Nine Dead.
Because of that, I really liked it! I especially liked the inclusion of the ‘influencer’ aspect. It was like taking a peak behind the curtain and I liked that they showed that all this fame can be really empty and that its success doesn’t actually mean much by itself. It was assuring in a way, that no matter how successful someone appears to be, they will still have human struggles.
But anyways, time for the cons. BECAUSE this book was so similar to the above mentioned media, especially “and then there were none”, the ending was obvious to me. I loved this modern take on that book, but it still felt like a modern adaption and not quite new.
Also, the open ending felt a bit weak to me. We have no true confirmation on what happened, only speculations from people on the internet. I understand the message that ending was trying to give, but I still would have preferred a concrete did they or didn’t they and how they did it.

i really don't know where to start with this one. i mean, we got what the title told us, but that's about it. the first 50-60 pages were a bit boring and long-winded and once it got interesting on the island all the murders just happened way too fast. there wasn't too much explanation of the setting, the time-frame, the whole "setting the mood" was lacking in all parts. the characters definitely lacked depth and I couldn't find myself caring about most of them. the only ones even halfway interesting were emma jane and manny (I was really rooting for him, let me tell you that) and, as the murders all happened back to back, we didn't really get to know any of the characters which left me quite unsatisfied. oh, and talking about unsatisfied: don't let me get started on the ending. like what the hell. i mean, it was crystal clear then who the murderer was and what their motive regarding frankie was. but what about their motive with all the others? we'll never know. well, i know that basically seemed like a real rant right now and, yeah, it kind of is. however, i still kind of enjoyed to book for its fast-paced storyline and the constant guessing one had to engage in. safe to say now that i didn't not like it but i also didn't really like it. nothing more to say on that.

I think this would have worked better if we had been able to spend more time with each of the characters and if their deaths had been spaced out a bit more. I also would have appreciated more time building deeper character motivations for all our POV characters.

Couldn't differentiate the characters at all which made the stakes pretty much nonexistent for me lol. Loved the ending though!

When I finished this book I was surprised the murder wasn’t who I thought it was! But really I should have seen it coming, I think I just liked the character too much. I think this book had a pretty unique and well-disguised villain.
Based on her other books, which I didn’t really like I didn’t have super high expectations, but this book was good and I’d read more mystery thrillers by her.
The writing was okay, but the style was a bit dry. The constant switching of POVs was confusing at first and I’m glad for the list of characters at the beginning of the book which I referenced frequently at the beginning. There was soo many protagonists to start with it was really confusing. There was a lot of rep which was nice and I’m starting to see a lot more of it in mystery thrillers, especially YA ones.
The character development was more in finding out their backgrounds than the character’s really changing much. My favorite character was Manny for sure, he just seemed to be a genuinely nice guy.

The pace was about medium, and I would have preferred fast for this type of book, but I guess in the end it worked out.
